studio COMPANY DETAILS
The New Ballet Studio Company provides the opportunity for dancers ages 17-24 who are ready to transition from student to professional to gain experience rehearsing and performing in a full-day program while continuing to train with New Ballet School's highest class level in the evenings and on Saturdays. Studio Company dancers perform throughout the year, on our main stage, at outreach events, festivals, workshops and other events around the bay area and beyond. Weekly schedules will include company classes, rehearsals, coaching, career/professionalism counseling and training, resume/audition packet creation, technique class, pointe, variations, partnering, and modern, as well as other classes, performances, appearances and events.
Opportunities to choreograph, to learn improvisational skills, and to develop as artistic contributors make the Studio Company program a unique opportunity for aspiring professional dancers. Studio Company members train rigorously in the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum and receive nuanced coaching in variations, pas de deux and choreography from the classical repertoire, in new works, and more.
The Studio Company Season runs September through late May or early June, with opportunities to train throughout the summer at the Summer Intensive. This program is tuition-free. Stipends are awarded to qualified applicants based on merit.
