2026 Nutcracker Registration
Guest Star - Casa de Fruta

Thank you for considering being a special guest star as Casa de Fruita in The San Jose Nutcracker! New Ballet is honored to invite you to be part of our 10th Anniversay production. The role of Casa de Fruita is a comedic guest cameo, with no dance experience required. You will steal the scene with the professional dancers of New Ballet and students from New Ballet School in a newly designed version of this epic scene, where you will be pushed around the stage in a custom cart and newly reimagined costume including while the audience laughs along with the fun.

Time commitment

Studio Rehearsal and Costume Fitting: (pick one or more, attenging rehearsal is optional)
Sundays, 2:30–3:30 PM: November 8, December 6, December 13
Sundays, 12:00-1:30: November 15, November 22

If you can’t make the rehearsal and fitting, we would be delighted for you to come just for your preferred performance. Basic training will take place at 6:00pm backstage at the theatre. You will get into costume at the beginning of the second act and be onstage for the Cherries dance during the second act. A dancer will wheel you on and off the stage and you will receive direction as to how to interact with the dancers on stage. If you are a natural ham, you really can’t go wrong!

Saturday, December 19 at 7pm (arrive backstage at 6:00)
Saturday, December 26 at 7pm (arrive backstage at 6:30)

OPTIONAL upgrade

For a total donation of $5000, you and up to 20 guests can celerate your debut at a wine and cheese reception for you and your guests at intermission in the Baton Society Lounge.
