Pre-ballet

Ages 2.5 years to 5 years. Classes are developmentally appropriate and a lot of fun! Enrollment is open now.

The Pre-Ballet Division provides a fun introduction to ballet and movement fundamentals for students ages 2.5 years to five years old. Developmentally appropriate classes are provided by professional faculty who encourage the success of each student. Engaged professional teachers and live piano music in the classroom ensures that we provide the Bay Area's most inspiring dance program for young movers.

Creative Movement classes for students 2.5-4 years old, provide an energetic introduction to ballet basics. Pre-Primary Classes for students ages 4-5 provide a developmentally appropriate and fun introduction to the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum. Both classes are separation classes where the student participates in a class with their own peers.

Primary

Ages 5-10 years, American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum Levels Primary A, B and C. Open enrollment classes take place one day a week, on weekdays or weekends.

Primary Division classes are for kids ages 5-10, and feature professional ballet training in the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum Levels Primary A, B and C. The Primary Division is an open-enrollment ballet program, offering one class a week. Developmentally appropriate classes in our Primary Division build musicality, imaginative skills, teamwork, fundamental ballet technique, and a joy of dance.

Classes in the Primary Division are open to all students in the appropriate age range with no audition required. Students in the Primary Division are eligible to perform in a brief appearance in “The San Jose Nutcracker” and in our Spring Performance. See Schedule + Tuition for further details.


Junior Pre-Professional

Placement class required. Ages 8 and up. American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum, Levels 1A-3B.

Expert ABT Certified faculty and live piano music in the classroom provide a complete classical ballet education. Classes in the Junior Pre-Professional Division provide a solid foundation of classical ballet technique, meticulously developing the building blocks needed to excel. Our training environment focuses on dancer health and child development. Children in the Pre-Professional Division perform in two professionally produced productions annually, The San Jose Nutcracker and our Spring Story Ballet.


Senior Pre-Professional

Audition required. American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum Levels 4A-6.

Classes in the Senior Pre-Professional Division are for serious ballet students who train 4-6 days a week. Intended for students who strive for the level of excellence required to pursue a career in professional ballet, (whether or not that is a student’s ultimate career path), classes in the Senior Pre-Professional Division provide focused study in an elite atmosphere dedicated to the success of each student. Senior Pre-Professional Division students perform in The San Jose Nutcracker and in our annual Spring Story Ballet. Financial Aid and Scholarships may be available for those who qualify, based on need and merit.


Studio Company & Studio Company Apprentice

Live the life of a professional ballet dancer in this full-day program for dancers who are ready to transition from student to professional.

Studio Company: A full-day tuition-free, performance-based program. Stipends may be available based on experience and expertise.

Studio Company Apprentice: A full-day tuition-based, performance-based program. Merit and/or Financial Aid scholarships may be available for this program but are limited and often do not cover full tuition.


Career and professionalism counseling is a cornerstone of the Studio Company and Studio Company Apprentice programs, which is intended to guide each dancer to a fulfilling future.
