Russian Children
Congratulations on being cast to perform the role of a Russian Child in Dalia Rawson’s “Swan Lake.” Russian Children perform in the Russian Princess Dance during Act 2 of Swan Lake, honoring the Prince’s Mother and representing their princess as a potential bride for the Prince. Please note: all schedules are subject to change. Families will be notified of these changes via email.
For In Studio Rehearsals Russian Children should wear their regular class uniform.
Female Russian Children must purchase a white camisole leotard to wear under their costume on stage for all theatre rehearsals and performances. Available for purchase HERE
They will come to and from the theatre underdressed in this white leotard with pink tights and bringing their pink ballet shoes.
Male students will wear their dance class uniforms underdressed to and from the theatre and onstage under their costumes. Male students will perform in their regular black ballet slippers and socks.

Saturdays, 11:00-11:45am: April 12, April 26, May 3, May 10 - WE APOLOGIZE FOR NOT HOLDING REHEARSAL ON APRIL 5 AS ORIGINALLY LISTED. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A REHEARSAL ON MAY 3 THAT WAS NOT PREVIOUSLY LISTED. IF YOU CAN ATTEND, THAT WOULD BE IDEAL, BUT IF YOU CANNOT THIS WILL NOT AFFECT CASTING IN ANY WAY.
Theatre Rehearsal Schedule - Mandatory Availability
Students may or may not be called for all of the times listed, but must keep ALL of these dates available. Final Theater call times will be released by April 8 with performance casting. All rehearsals listed below will be at the Hammer Theatre. These drop off and pick up times may shift as production needs become more clear. One conflict can be allowed for Theatre Rehearsals. Please mark the conflict on your Registration Sheet.
Tech/Dress rehearsal: Thursday May 15, 4:45-6:15pm (both groups)
Dress rehearsal: Friday May 16, 7:00-8:30pm (Group 1 only).
Pick up times are approximate and based on rehearsal progress. Please be prepared for the time to shift slightly.
Performance Schedule: MANDATORY AVAILABILITY
Russian Children are in the following performances. We mayhave multiple casts, so students possibly will not be called to all performances listed below, but students MUST BE AVAILABLE for all the performances listed below, other than conflicts listed in your conflict form. One performance conflict will be allowed if noted on the Registration Form. How many groups of dancers perform will be based on registration. It is possible that your student will be only in one performance, or they may be in up to three performances. Performance dates for each student will be released April 8. Please note that the times listed below are performer drop off and pick up times, not the actual show times. Theatre information with more details will be distributed with Performance Casting on April 15. Pick up times are our best estimate, and based on performance run times which may shift each day.
We are pleased to announce that Saturday night’s performance will be presented in partnership with SVPRIDE, a night where our full community will celebrate the magic of “Swan Lake” with us in the audience. Dancers’ performances and experiences backstage will be identical to other performances, as will the experience provided to the audience.
Please note that dancers may not leave the theatre directly into the lobby. Dancers need to meet guests at the stage door.
