Levels 5A, 5B and 6 students

Levels 5A, 5B and 6 students, as well as Studio Company Apprentices are eligible to perform or understudy one or more of the following roles: Party Scene Characters, Toy Soldiers, Clara, Fritz, The Nutcracker, Mousima, Snow, Snow Understudies, Flowers, Flower Understudies and other Soloist and Principal Roles. These are considered advanced roles and require full participation in all performances and theatre rehearsals. If you are cast as a Toy Soldier you are additionally guaranteed to be cast in at least one additional role, and Toy Soldiers can appear in the same performance in which you dance Flowers in Act. 2. Please note: all schedules are subject to change. Families will be notified of these changes via email.

MINIMAL CASTING - If you are in Level 5 or 6 and opt for minimal casting, you will only be called to the theater during theatre rehearsals and for performances on the days you are cast to be on stage. You will not be considered for any roles in Party Scene, any roles in Act 2 or any principal or soloist roles if you opt for minimal casting. If you have conflicts for theatre rehearsals or performances, you must sign up for Minimal Casting.

Preliminary Casting, which roles students are learning, will be announced on September 23.
Performance Casting, which roles students are performing, will be announced on November 1.

Saturdays:  3:00-4:15; October 5 - December 7 (no rehearsal November 30, ABC IDC students excused November 2 if needed, Competition Group Dancers in Mua Non and In Studio 1 excused October 5)
Sundays: 12:00-2:15; November 10, 17, 24, December 8 (includes warm up)

Battle (ACT 2) - includes Clara, The Nutcracker, Mousima, Toy Soldiers
Saturdays:  1:45-2:45; October 5th - December 7 (no rehearsal November 30, ABC IDC students excused November 2 if needed, Competition Group Dancers in Mua Non and In Studio 1 excused October 5)
Sundays: 12:00-2:15; November 10th, 17, 24, December 8 (includes warm up)

Flowers/Flower Understudies, Snow Snow/Understudies
Tuesdays:  6:00-7:00; September 24  - December 3 (no rehearsal November 26)
Saturdays: 12:30-1:30; October 12 - December 7 (no rehearsal November 30, ABC IDC students excused November 2 if needed)
Sundays: 12:00-3:30; November 10, 17, 24, December 8 (includes warm up)

Clara, Nutcracker, Woodland Guardians other Soloist Roles as Cast
Saturdays: 12:00-4:15; October 19 - December 7 (no rehearsal November 30, ABC IDC students excused November 2 if needed)
Sundays:  12:00-3:30; November 10, 17, 24, December 8th (includes warm up)

All - optional for school students with finals

Theatre Rehearsal Schedule - Mandatory Availability

Level 5 and 6 students will be cast to participate in the following rehearsals. Snow, Flowers, Principal and Soloist roles will be called to all theater rehearsals, whether or not they are cast to be onstage, to watch rehearsal and be on site in case of emergency replacements, unless you have opted for Minimal Casting, in which case they will only be called to the theatre on days when they are cast to be on stage.. Final Theater Rehearsal dates for when each student will be onstage will be released by November 1st with performance casting. More details will be sent closer to theater week. 

Tech rehearsal: Wednesday, December 11th, 4:00-9:30pm (may arrive after or during warmup 4:30-5:00, if school schedule dictates.)
Tech rehearsal: Thursday, December 12th, 4:00-9:30pm (may arrive after or during warmup 4:30-5:00, if school schedule dictates.)
Dress rehearsal: Friday, December 13th, 4:30-9:15pm 

Performance Schedule: MANDATORY AVAILABILITY

We may have multiple casts, so students may not perform in every performance listed below, but students who do not opt for Minimal Casting MUST BE ON SITE for all the performances listed below in case of emergency coverage, and some students will be cast in all performances listed below. Performance dates for each student will be released by November 1st. Please note that the times listed below are performer estimated drop off and pick up times, not the actual show times. More details will be sent closer to theater week.

Pay The Participation Fee By September 13

Once you have registered there is a link in the form to pay the participation fee. You also may pay your Participation Fee here if you accidentally exit out of the window. The Participation Fee for Level 5 and 6 Students is $250 (this is waived for Continuing Scholarship Students or students on Financial Aid who are notified that it is waived). The Participation Fee partially covers the cost of rehearsal staff, backstage theater staff, and costume creation/maintenance. Performance tickets must be purchased through the Box Office.
