Levels 3A and 3B

Level 3A and 3B students are eligible to perform the role of Royal Children. They will dance in Act 1 of Swan Lake, in the introduction to the act where we meet the Prince and the royal family and the Act 1 pas de trois. Please note: all schedules are subject to change. Families will be notified of these changes via email. Alternate class or in-studio understudy opportunities will be provided for students who do not sign up for the performance for rehearsals that occur during class time.

For In-Studio Rehearsals, Royal Children should wear their regular school uniform and shoes.

For Theatre rehearsals and performances, Royal Children should arrive underdressed in pink tights and wear pink ballet shoes, as well as a tan liner leotard to wear under their costume in the theatre. Available for purchase HERE

In-Studio Rehearsal Schedule

Students may have up to four conflicts for Thursday rehearsals, up to 2 conflicts for Saturday rehearsals, and up to one conflict for Sunday rehearsals, with a total of no more than five in-studio rehearsal conflicts.

Thursdays, 6:00-7:00 (during regulaly scheduled class time): March 6, March 13, March 20, March 27, April 3, April 10, April 24, May 1, May 8
Saturdays, 3:00-4:00pm: April 12, April 26, May 3, May 10,
Sundays, 2:30-4:00: April 13, April 27

Up to 4 rehearsal conflicts for in-studio rehearsals are permitted. Please list conflicts on your registration form.


Theatre Rehearsal Schedule - Mandatory Availability

Students may or may not be called for all of the times listed, but must keep ALL of these dates available. Final Theater call times will be released with performance casting on April 8.  All rehearsals listed below will be at the Hammer Theatre. These drop off and pick up times may shift as production needs become more clear. If you have a conflict for any of these theatre days, rehearsal or performances, please indicate that conflict on your conflict sheet. Only one conflict will be permitted. If you have more than one conflict, please email state@newballet.com prior to paying your Performance Fee.

Tech/Dress rehearsal: Wednesday, May 14: 4:30-6:30pm
Tech/Dress rehearsal: Thursday, May 15: 5:30-7:00pm
Dress rehearsal: Friday, May 16: 6:30-8:00pm

Up to two in-theatre rehearsal or performance conflicts may be permitted for in theatre rehearsals and performances. Performance Schedule: MANDATORY AVAILABILITY

Royal Children are in the following performances. Students MUST BE AVAILABLE for all the performances listed below and may be cast in all performances. We may have two groups of performers or we may have one group of performers, depending on a variety of factors including costuming and registration. Your student will perform in at least one and up to four performances. Performance Casting will be announced on April 8. Please note that the times listed below are performer drop off and pick up times, not the actual show times. Theatre information with more details will be distributed with Performance Casting on April 8. Pick Up times are at intermission of the performance. All students must be picked up at the stage door during intermission. If you would like your student to watch the performance with you, you must meet them at the stage door at intermission and purchase a ticket for them with a student performer discount code, good only for days in which students are performing.

We are pleased to announce that Saturday night’s performance will be an LGBTQ+ performance, a night where our family and friends from the LGBTQ+ community will celebrate the magic of “Swan Lake” with us in the audience. Dancers’ performances and experiences backstage will be identical to other performances, as will the experience provided to the audience. This show will be promoted in partnership with Silicon Valley Pride.

Pay The Participation Fee By February 17

Once you have registered, you may pay your Participation Fee here. The Participation Fee for Level 3 Students is $210 (this is waived for Outreach Continuing Scholarship Students or students on Financial Aid who are notified that it is waived -these students do not need to take any extra steps or pay the fee). The Participation Fee covers the cost of rehearsal staff, backstage theater staff, and costume creation/maintenance. Performance tickets must be purchased through the Box Office.
