Peasants
Congratulations on being cast in the role of a Peasant in Dalia Rawson’s “Giselle.” Peasants will be in the “Dance of the Grape Harvesters,” a festive dance celebrating Giselle as Queen of the Harvest, and will appear throughout the first act. Please note: all schedules are subject to change. Families will be notified of these changes via email. Alternate class or in-studio understudy opportunities will be provided for students who do not sign up for the performance for rehearsals that occur during class time.
For In-Studio Rehearsals, Peasants should wear their regular school uniform and shoes.
For Theatre rehearsals and performances, Peasants should arrive underdressed in pink tights and wear pink ballet shoes, as well as a tan liner leotard to wear under their costume in the theatre. Available for purchase HERE

In-Studio Rehearsal Schedule
Students may have up to five total conflicts.
Wednesdays, 6:00-7:00pm (during regularly scheduled class time): February 25, March 11, March 25 (those who opt not to participate will act as studio understudies)
Thursdays, 6:00-7:00pm or 5:00-6:00pm (during regularly scheduled class time): April 2, April 16 April 23, April 30, May 7 (those who opt not to participate will act as studio understudies or be given another class, depending on participation numbers.)
Saturdays, 1:30-3:00pm: April 18, April 25, May 2, May 9 (Level 3 boys also February 28, March 14 and April 4 - additional conflicts permitted if needed)
Sundays, 2:30-4:00: April 19, April 26
Up to five rehearsal conflicts for in-studio rehearsals are permitted. Please be sure you have listed conflicts on your registration form. Boys called to additional Saturdays may have additional conflicts if needed. PLEASE EMAIL school@newballet.com with any questions as we want to make this work for you.
Theatre Rehearsal Schedule - Mandatory Availability
Students may or may not be called for all of the times listed, but must keep ALL of these dates available. Final Theater call times will be released with performance casting on April 3. All rehearsals listed below will be at the Hammer Theatre. These drop off and pick up times may shift as production needs become more clear. If you have a conflict for any of these theatre days, rehearsal or performances, please indicate that conflict on your conflict sheet. Only one conflict will be permitted. If you have more than one conflict, please email state@newballet.com prior to paying your Performance Fee.
Tech/Dress rehearsal: Wednesday, May 13: 4:30-8:00pm
Tech/Dress rehearsal: Thursday, May 14: 5:15-8:00pm
Dress rehearsal: Friday, May 15: 6:15-8:00pm
Up to two in-theatre rehearsal or performance conflicts may be permitted for in theatre rehearsals and performances. Please be sure you have listed all conflicts on your registration form, even if they have been approved.
Performance Schedule: MANDATORY AVAILABILITY
Peasants are in the following performances. Students MUST BE AVAILABLE for all the performances listed below and may be cast in all performances. We may have two groups of performers or we may have one group of performers, depending on a variety of factors including costuming and registration. Your student will perform in at least one and up to four performances. Performance Casting will be announced on April 3. Please note that the times listed below are performer drop off and pick up times, not the actual show times. Theatre information with more details will be distributed with Performance Casting on April 3. Pick Up times are at intermission of the performance. All students must be picked up at the stage door during intermission. If you would like your student to watch the performance with you, you must meet them at the stage door at intermission and purchase a ticket for them with a student performer discount code, good only for days in which students are performing.
