4 and 5
Students in 4 and 5 will be cast as Grape Harvesters and Hunting Party Nobles in Dalia Rawson’s Giselle. Grape Harvesters will dance throughout the first act. Hunting Party Nobles appear with Lady Bathilde in Act 1. Some Grape Harvestors will also appear briefly in Act 2. Select Level 5 students may also be selected to learn the role or Wili, if they do not sign up for minimal casting. If you are selected to learn the role of Wili, you will be called until 4pm on Saturdays and until 3:30pm on Sundays. Please note: all schedules are subject to change. Families will be notified of these changes via email.
Grape Harvesters should wear their regular uniform to rehearsals, with pointe shoes.
Grape Harvesters will wear flesh colored pointe shoes and flesh colored tights for performances and should purchase a tan liner leotard to wear under their costume in the theatre. Available for purchase HERE

Preliminary Casting (which roles students are registered to learn) will be posted on February 23. Performance Casting will be annoucned on April 3.
In-Studio Rehearsal Schedule
Tuesdays 6:00 - 7:00pm: during regular class time through the performance. Those students who choose not to perform will participate as understudies. February 24, March 3, March 10, March 24, March 31, April 14
Tuesdays warm up and full run 4:30-7:00pm: April 21, April 28, and May 5 (students will be released to another studio for tech/pt class when finished)
Thursdays warm up and full run 4:30-7:00pm: April 23, April 30, May 7 (students will be released to another studio for tech/pt class when finished)
Saturdays: 11:15am-12:00pm: April 25 and May 9
Saturdays 12:30 - 2:00pm: February 28, March 14, April 4, April 18, April 25, May 2, May 9
Saturdays 2:00-4:00pm: February 28, March 14, April 4, April 18, April 25, May 2, May 9 - Students learning wilis, Full Company only
Sundays (12 - 12:45 warm up) 1:00 - 2:15pm: April 19, April 26

Up to four in-studio rehearsal conflicts will be permitted. Please note conflicts on your registration form. Juniors and Seniors in High School may sign up for minimal casting, in which case they may have theatre conflicts and will not be called to any Sunday Rehearsals. BE SURE TO INDICATE ON YOUR REGISTRATION FORM IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MINIMAL CASTING.
Theatre Rehearsal Schedule - Mandatory Availability
Students must be available for ALL of these dates. Final Theater call times will be released with performance casting. All rehearsals listed below will be at the Hammer Theatre. These drop off and pick up times may shift as production needs become more clear. Junior and Seniors in High School may opt for minimal casting, in which case they may let us know by April 1 of any conflicts in the theatre.
Tech/Dress rehearsal: Wednesday May 13, 4:00-8:00 (all casts - student may arrive at 4:30 and self warm up if their academic school schedule arriving in time for warm up) - students learning wilis called until 9pm
Tech/Dress rehearsal: Thursday May 14, 4:00-8:00 (all casts - student may arrive at 4:30 and self warm up if their academic schedule precludes arriving in time for warm up) - students learning wilis called until 9:00pm
Dress rehearsal: Friday May 15, 4:30-8:00 (all casts) - students learning wilis called until 9:00pm
One in-theatre rehearsal or performance conflict may be permitted for in theatre rehearsals and performances, unless you opt for minimal cassting as a Junior or Senior in High School, when more conflicts may be approved. Please contact school@newballet.com immediately to see if your in-theatre rehearsal conflict or performance conflict can be accomodated. List any conflicts on your registration form, even if they have been approved.
Performance Schedule: MANDATORY AVAILABILITY
Grape Harvesters and Hunting Party Nobles are in the following performances. Performance Casting will be announced April 8, and students may be cast in all performances. Please note that the times listed below are performer drop off and pick up times including a warm up class, not the actual show times. Theatre information with more details will be distributed with Performance Casting on April 3. All students must be picked up at intermission at the stage door. Student tickets will be available for purchase for the second act.

Pay The Participation Fee By February 16
Once you have registered, you may pay your Participation Fee here. The Participation Fee for Levels 4 & 5 students is $215 (this is waived for Outreach Continuing Scholarship Students or students on Financial Aid who are notified that it is waived -these students do not need to take any extra steps or pay the fee). The Participation Fee covers the cost of rehearsal staff, backstage theater staff, and costume creation/maintenance. Performance tickets must be purchased through the Box Office.
